Agriculturalists first arrived in the Quairading district in the 1860s when Edward Reid Parker took up a lease near Dangin. By 1892 the Greenhills Road was established to service the area, and in 1907 the towns of Quairading and Dangin were officially proclaimed.
Around 25 kilometres northeast of Quairading is Mount Stirling. A climb to the top of the granite outcrop provides panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Barbecue and picnic facilities are available. In the same area, the Home of Natural Wood Sculpture is open to visitors. A display of work by the founder of the studio can be viewed as well as renovated antique and colonial furniture.
